It's Begining To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Our Christmas Tree

8th Grade Aztec Skits

The Aztecs create their capitol city, Tenochtilan and create a farm-based society.

Here, the Aztecs perform a 'human sacrifice' to the Sun God.

Cortes comes to conquer the Aztecs. He succeeds due to better weapons and the Aztecs think he is a god.

7th Grade Chapel Buddy Play Time

7th Graders spent some time this morning playing with their preschool chapel buddies. They colored, played with Legos, read, and played 'house'. I am not sure who had more fun...the preschoolers or the 7th graders... :)

God Bless America!

Remembering 9-11 today, Jr. High students had a moment to reflect and remember what happened 11 years ago today. We are thankful to live in America and be able to worship our God at Christ Lutheran!

8th Religion

The 8th graders have been working hard to share the chapel message on Wednesday of how to love, honor, and serve. They had fun doing skits portraying ways to do these things.
The 8th grade class has also decided to 'adopt' a child battling cancer. We pray for him daily and help him in ways we can. We look forward to the day when he is cancer free and comes to visit us!

Social Studies Updates

The 8th grade class is busy learning about early African empires. We have studied various empires and have had fun acting out the events in class. The 8th graders even wrote eulogies for the great Mansa Musa. He was a great leader of Mali, accomplishing many things, that we found it appropriate to honor him in this way. We look forward to more fun times in history class as we begin studying ancient Japan next!

In 7th grade, we have just completed creating our very own treasure maps. Students shown their creativity as we put our cartography skills into use and created a fictitious island with many parts to it.
We currently are studying early humans and had a chance to pretend we were cavemen. We 'painted' a scene in our 'caves' (desks) of what our daily lives might have been like.
